A Different Kind of Mother's Day...Not

We ordered a kit from Costco thinking it was a great deal.  The cost keeps going up as we get more and more things for it.  Isn't that about how every project goes.  It is hard to see all those forgotten items until you are in the thick of things and then you are committed.  That is what makes life interesting.
This is the shed that Kim built...with Kira and Wynette's help   --Still a work in progress
We have decided one way that we want to include Bryce on special days is to put a pinwheel on his headstone.  What will I do if we move away...he is so close that we just walk over.  I have thought about his funny headstone.  I don't like how the mountains turned out and it needs to be on a pedestal because the water and weed wacker have made it faded and marked.
Then I think...naw--what does it matter to Bryce?  I am grateful to be able to think about what is important and what is for show.  I continue to learn things from Bryce's life and philosophy.  I am so grateful that we can continue to keep him in our thoughts and hearts and laugh at the memories of all his craziness.  We do miss the element he brought to our family but have learned so many good things that soften the absence.
Kira got me a pinwheel to put on Bryce's grave.  The one that was there either blew away or other.

Mother's Day dinner...
No plans were made for Mother's Day.  We have spent the last few in Brigham with Kim's mom where I would plan the menu for a dinner.  This year no one planned the menu and at the last minute, Brooke decided to come and share the day with us.  So I threw some food together and was reminded that life is just as fun when it is simple.  We tried to have a "simple" tribute to mothers and marriage but Winston was too funny and Edie was rather fussy and so we just went with the flow and enjoyed being together.  Kids make everything unpredictable.  Good thing they also make everything fun.
