Truly Grateful and Blessed

The recent snow broke tree limbs.  We started out the holiday cleaning up the branches.  Someone called the fire department and the firemen that responded  told Kim to have the hot dogs out next time he burned "recreational" !

Thanksgiving was at my sister Kerry's this year.  This is a game where you tell something you are thankful for and pass/ throw the yarn to someone else.  You have to share something different you are thankful for.  A reminder that all our blessings are connected.  Also a great reminder of how much our family is a blessing in our lives.

Sophie trying to untangle the yarn afterwards.  She did a great job!!!
On Saturday we all made pies.   Kim and I made a pumpkin cheesecake.  It is in the fridge trying to set up.  Brooke and Whit made a Dutch Apple pie and Kira and Dallin made a lemon meringue pie.  They were all yummy~

Which of these is not like the other?  I think Kim missed the memo on good looking bellies.
My greatest blessing is being a wife and a mother.  It was wonderful to just be together.  The girls made soap with our very own honey and beeswax and the guys put up the Christmas lights.  The center of attention was Winston, as usual.   This is a part of a song that I like that reminds me of what is important.  I love Thanksgiving!

--Grateful by John Bucchino
It's not that I don't want a lot
Or hope for more, or dream of more
But giving thanks for what I've got
Makes me so much happier than keeping score

In a world that can bring pain
I will still take each chance
For I believe that whatever the terrain
Our feet can learn to dance
Whatever stone life may sling
We can moan or we can sing

Grateful, grateful
Truly grateful I am
Grateful, grateful
Truly blessed

And duly grateful
