The Falling Leaves...

Last hurrah's before the Hughes leave on their CES mission to Ohio
The weather has been divine this September.  It is pretty much heaven in my mind.  We had a luncheon in the backyard to celebrate my neighbor's 87th birthday.  Afterwards, Barb, Ilene and I just sat and talked and laughed.  We are trying to make memories until we are all back together again.  So then we had to have a dinner with the guys included.  Kim had just trimmed our dying willow tree so we burned the dead branches.

Friday night fun...extracting honey.  We were up until midnight.

On Saturday we drove up the Nebo loop to see the colors.  We weren't disappointed.  We weren't alone either.  People were out in big time.
The Grotto...one of my favorite fall places

This graduate chemistry student is from Zhengzhou China!
In the afternoon we went to one of my favorite activities--The Chemistry Graduate Opening Social.   Students bring dishes from their country and it is the best dinner ever.  They had contests for the kids and students and a chemistry challenge for some of the undergraduates.  I was so excited to meet Jiang because he is from the same city McKay is in.  It was not easy to understand him but I made him promise that when he went home, he would take us.

In Memory of McKay...fun pictures

Sunday we took shifts going to the Brigham City Temple dedication.  Brooke , Whit and Dallin went while I watched Winston.  Kim took in the 9 and 3 p.m. sessions.  I went to the 3 p.m. with Kira.  Kim got pretty emotional at the closing song of the 3 p.m. session.  He later said he felt that his parents and Bryce were singing in the heavenly choir.  I know they are excited about a Brigham Temple.  I can hardly wait to go!

After the "kiddoes" went home, we took Kira to see the colors at Payson Lakes.  It was busy...surprise!  and beautiful.  We loooooved walking around the lake and saw our friends the Hughes and the Tuttles.

People were walking by as we jumped in our Sunday clothes.  I am sure they wondered...what the?

Isn't he the cutest!!!!!!!
Our Stake put on Spirits of Light...a musical production.  Members shared stories of help and deliverance from God in their lives and the lives of their ancestors.  The singing was perfect and uplifting...touching.  It was hard to hold in the tears.  It was the perfect prelude to the dedication of the Brigham City temple.  I loved this week from the lingering dialogue with two of my best friends, to extracting honey / sharing time with the Soffes and seeing Bryce's friends come and grill steaks just like he loved to do with them at Willy's house where the "Honey house" is and soaking in the fall colors after dedicating a temple in Brigham.  I love my life.
