Labor Day Fun

First Day of Pre-School
First Grade and First Day Teaching
First Day of the new year at BYU
It is always a great time of year when Fall is in the air and school is starting.  It is quite weird to think of all my kids graduated from college except Dallin.  I mean...how old is that?   My grandchildren have started school now and it is a fun time.
I guess Tyler will always have that First Day of School thrill...he will just be on the other end of it.

Cascade Springs

When all our kids were young, we came to Cascade Springs with them.  They loved it.  It is rather magical with the streams, waterfalls and pools.  The water comes up out of the ground.  It was a beautiful day and not crowded yet.  Everyone and I mean everyone was out for Labor Day fun.

I was trying to kiss Kim or...his picture
We had the Stake Barbecue in our back yard.  Last year it was at the back yard of one of Kim's counselors.  They  had a waterfall going, a gas fire pit, etc.  Beautifully done and not a weed in sight.  Well...we wanted some motivation to get our yard fixed up so we said--no cool waterfall this year.  Then our fence blew over and took up a lot of time repairing it.  We didn't get the fence stained.  We didn't get the yard weeded.  I didn't even get the small solar water fountain cleaned and running.  However, we had these cool Pirates of the Caribbean guys that we put the Presidency faces on.  The smoked pork was the best ever and we had a great time. It is so important to do these things ( get together) because it gives us the opportunity to tell everyone how much we appreciate them and what a great job they are doing.
No one made fun of our backyard but Lisa said to me in parting...next year let's have it in our back yard again.  She likes the motivation to get things done too.
The parting thought...what matters most is that you just get together and make memories, renew friendships and motivate one another.  It works.
I love love love Fall.  Oh...we did get the tree pruned.
