Ward Campout

We had our ward campout this past weekend at Brown County State park. We decided to head out a day early with some of our friends because the weather was so amazing (low 80s with low humidity). So Thursday evening we set up camp and did the whole hot dog marshmallow thing and stayed up late talking while the kids built a fort out of dead tree branches. On Friday we were up early and after breakfast went on a 3 mile hike (ambitious with five kids under the age of six). When we got home the kids played at a playground and then we had lunch and tried (unsuccessfully) to do naps. We then went to a pool that is inside the park and swam for a bit and then came back to camp and ate dinner with the rest of the ward. About 50 people made it out and we had a great time visiting. After eating (around 8:00) we headed back to Bloomington, opting for our beds instead of a consecutive day of little sleep. It gave us Saturday to recoup from the trip which worked out really well. It was a great little trip.
