Weekend happenings

I had a hair appointment on Thurs. and I could not find the place in Salem. It hurt because I was in the van and I drove around for 1/2 hr. We made another appointment for the next day when I called and explained. The next door neighbor came after me and she has a son in Bryce's mission...Elder Clare. We had so much fun talking about Africa and missions!! I really like my new hair dresser ( Sister Soffe's suggestion). Friday night we went to the Garlicks in Highland for dinner and a slide presentation of their trip to the Ghana Mission. The mission president is a good friend of the Garlicks so they went while he was still there ( will be released next month). We learned alot about Africa and some of the pioneers like Brother Bishop. ( We got lost going to their house too and that hurts with the cost of gas). Saturday we shopped until it was time to get ready for Monty's sealing. It was so interesting to see both of their families and think about how they are and what their background is. It was a wonderful sealing and I know that the sealer was very inspired to say things that were just for Monty and Annelisa. We came back to SF for Matt and Mary's reception and enjoyed visiting with Matt's family while we ate refreshments. The funny story of the night was when Valerie and her husband stopped at the table to visit and after she left, Matt's grandmother said...why does she look so familiar? Valerie was Matt's only girlfriend that he had forever before Mary. We came home and watched slides of Bryce and Dallin snowboarding and a movie that I left because I was not comfortable with it. Today we went to Russell Voorhees ward which would be our old ward to hear him speak after returning from Guatamale. That was hard because all these cute kids had grown up. We have now lived in SF for 12 years ( in June) and have been away from the WHII ward for 7 years. Alot happens in that time. It was wonderful to be there and to see Bishop Voorhees conduct. To see more pictures of the happy couple, go to my picasa. What a busy time this is!
