If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again.
Bryce Day has come and gone. It is almost a relief when it is over because it is like Christmas. Time to put the memories away again until the next year. We had a very good day that began with sealings in the temple. Then we went cross country skiing at Sundance so that we could be out in the snow where Bryce loved to be.
It was a beautiful day and even though it hadn't snowed for a long time, the trail was groomed and we totally enjoyed the work out and going down the trails....wahooooooooo.
We went to the Bloch exhibit at BYU and checked out the ipads so we could sit and contemplate. It wasn't crowded like Christmas time and we could soak in the spirit that the paintings portrayed.
Then we had pizza with the kids and Wallys and watched videos and pictures of Bryce. Willy came with his girlfriend and then Jessica came with a dozen roses. She hasn't missed a year yet and always brings beautiful flowers. I was happy for the company since Kim was at meetings.
It is nice to have a day where you can talk all you want about Bryce. I do anyway but it was nice to spend time with some of his friends and remember. Each year I am reminded that we make a difference in each other's lives and leave a hole when we are gone. Hurray for winter, for family and friends, for a new year and an opportunity to make a difference.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart,
And all is darkened in the vale of tears,
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears.
Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.

The two of you amaze and inspire me. What a wonderful way to remember and honor Bryce. It was so nice to visit with both of you in December. Thank you for being such wonderful examples.
