This is what greeted us the first day in River Falls.
Here is Eli getting home from school. The kids have to wear boots and snow clothes every day until the snow is gone or they can't go to school...it is the school rule.
Kim spent some time with Eli working on his kite.
This was a yummy Mexican restaurant across the street from the college. It was really yummy...who would have thought in Wisconsin they could have such good Mexican food?

Gymnastics Open Day
Spencer has had a hard time watching while his sister does gymnastics each week so Nat was glad when they had an open day that he could go and do all the things he had seen Sharon do. They had a good time running, rolling, and hanging out on the rings.
Tyler teaching |
We were able to attend an evening class of Tyler's. He did a lecture on web pages and building your resume. It was really great to watch him in action. He is a great teacher with a lot of enthusiasm and love for his subject. Sharon modeling a blanket...she is too cute The St. Paul Temple...so teeny but very welcoming and special. Tyler and Nat have had to travel long distances to get to the temple and finally they live pretty close...about 40 min. It was nice to go on a double date with them and to see a little of St. Paul. They weather was much nicer at the end of the week. The Nesters were so nice to watch the kids and had lots of fun activities for them to do. They are eating the spring cups that they made with them on the porch of their "new" house. Eli wanted to go rollerblading with me so I used Natalie's and we practiced on the nice wide street of their neighborhood. We met a little boy about Spencer's age and his parents. They were so happy to know that a family with young children were moving in! The Cemetery .....and the end of our visit On our last day in Wisconsin, Kim and I walked around the area. We saw the schools where the kids would be attending next year and we found this cemetery. I loved the trees. It was different from the cemetery's in Utah. It had a wonderful tribute to the veterans. It was interesting to sit next to a woman on the way home and learn about her family. She has a son that is the age Bryce would be. He was paralyzed in a diving accident three years ago. She is the main care giver. She told me about John's struggles as he went through depression and having to cope with all the changes in his life. She was grateful that he was still alive and that she could be with him and help him. I thought that it is wonderful how we all try to make the best of each situation that is given to us and try to count the blessings. We gave each other a hug at the end of the trip and realized how much we both loved being a mother. She was off to watch her grandchildren in Colorado and I was ending my visit. Kim got some good things done at the house, and I was able to help Natalie with the kids. I thought it was a very appropriate way to spend our anniversary....being with our kids...so much fun. Ty and Nat will move into their home in June and hopefully all the things they want to do before they move in will get done! That is one good looking guy! The Cemetery....and Kim |
