Temples, Record Sleeves, SACTM reunion, Conference and what is this thing called SNOW?

Fun week with  Ai
Our Japanese visitor wanted to go to as many temples as possible while she was here so one day we went from the Timp temple, to the Draper temple, to the Jordan River and ended up at the Oquirrh to finish the day.  I wasn't sure how things would go but I found it was quite an amazing and wonderful thing to do especially right before Conference.  The temples were not busy as we started in the morning of a school day.  Ai was able to do 5 baptisms at each temple.  McKay took her to the Manti temple the next day where she got to do 5 more.  I was very glad that I could spend the day pondering and watching that special ordinance being performed.  I did baptisms with her in the last temple and I always appreciate that opportunity since Provo is limited in who can do them.
Ai and McKay went to the Wally's farm and rode mules.  It was a cold day but something that Ai has never done.  They rode along the brand new river walk way that goes behind the Wally's farm.  It goes up to the Canyon Park.  Spanish Fork is a happening place!

McKay and Dallin decided it would be fun to have a photo shoot with Ai.  It is something we have done a few times and really had a lot of fun with it.

This is what our white board looked like during the week as we compared characters from Japanese to Chinese.  My one word learned during the work:  dou-i ta-shima-shite.   Dallin says I still say it wrong and it took forever to just remember it!

South Africa CapeTown Mission Quilt with Bryce's square...can you see it?

On Friday night we drove to Sandy ( it took an hour to get from Spanish Fork to Provo...not a good night to go to Salt Lake) and caught the last part of a talk from a woman that lived in CapeTown and helped translate tracts and material into Xhosa for the church.  It was a wonderful and inspiring time and my favorite part was singing the Mission song at the end!  I love that song.   We enjoyed seeing familiar faces and visiting with some missionaries that knew Bryce that we had not met before.
It has been an amazing week.  I don't know if I will top it for a long time.   I didn't know how things would go with Ai but we were sad when Friday came and she went to another friend's house.  She truly brightened up our house and we all had fun having her here.  We weren't sure what to expect at the South African reunion either.  People ask when we served there, etc. and then we have to explain why we are there ( the Egans are so great to always invite us) etc. but this time most people knew who we were and it was nice to visit with Bryce's companions, etc.  It was just really nice.  Conference was wonderful as we spent time with Brooke and Whit in Salt Lake.  I went to a shower for Brooke's Italy friends.  A few years ago none of them were even married and now 6 of them are expecting babies.  What a great turn of events...much happiness.  I am just reminded once again that good things come to those that wait.
