Cooking Adventures

My friend had a party to celebrate pi day on 3/14/11. Therefore we had pie. I made a chocolate orange meringue. It turned out pretty darn good! It looked great and tasted great. I even made my own crust! I have really enjoyed baking lately and that is what I do on my days off. I was inspired by the meringue so for the missionaries zone conference I made up my own version of lemon meringue cupcakes. Yum. I filled the cupcakes with lemon pie filling and put some on top and then had a lovely meringue puff on top.

Nothing new in my life. I had a hard couple of last weeks. One of my patients coded and died on my shift. I think I am still in shock of it all. It happened so fast. I am ready to work with kids or babies!!!
Stake conference is coming up soon so I joined the stake choir and it is awesome. It is made up of two of the university wards. Most people can read music and such. Our conductor is a professional and he is very good and quite humorous at times. I think he is Japanese. His last name is Hayashi. It is nice to finally sing some challenging music.
