The Trek is over, Lake Alice is a sweet memory, the kids have all come and gone, and now YW camp is done...sorta. We still have some certifications to finish up. August is the month of birthdays and I am found sorely lacking in doing something. Wha. It has been a fast and crazy summer. Weeds are the prominent feature of my yard...unseen in years past. My tomatoes that were a source of pride are pathetic. Out of all the muck, I have had a profound moment this morning as I got ready for the day. I got out the Vaseline because my feet have taken a beating this summer and smiled as I took off the lid and saw the remains of what used to be a pretty full jar. Sharon found my Vaseline and had a hey day with it. Natalie was apologetic as she returned it to me. What seemed a bother to Natalie was a sweet reminder to me this morning of little hands, busy feet, and a darling smile. I love seeing these precious objects that scream...Grandkids on the loose! What a joy it is to have family come home and how little those things matter to me. They are just stuff. I hope she had fun when she squished it all over! I love being a Graaama. I love being a Mom. Who cares about weeds anyway?
