I do it "by myself"

This is Eli's latest tagline. "By myself." He is growing more and more independent and wants to do as much as he can without help. For the most part we love his attitude and determination--he keeps himself occupied and is a good, protective older brother. But the real reason I'm writing this post is because of the exciting development that came this week as a result of his newfound independence.
On Monday he asked if he could sit on the toilet. He's made this request before so we didn't think much of it. Well, this time it was different and he used the john. We were especially surprised because we have made zero effort up to this point to potty train him. He asked and went again yesterday so I guess potty training has official begun thanks to an overanxious two year old. Pretty exciting, eh?
