This is what we did for Halloween. We ate dinner ( chicken chili, Dallin's favorite corn bread, and Bryce's favorite cookies ...homemade oreos and we have some left for visitors) and then headed to the Spanish Fork River trail. We walked along and were surprised to see the leaves blown off the trail...whaaaa. We walked around the new areas that are in our stake and talked about what to do and saw lots of cute little trick or treaters. I went to Macey's in the morning and really enjoyed seeing many original ideas...like a girl dressed in a fancy pink dress looking like a wind up doll ( she had a crank in the back that wound around on it's own). No candy was consumed by us or handed out. Weird but true. We walked for about 1 1/2 hours and then went home to a very quiet house with memories of dumped out candy on the living room floor or Dallin saying why won't you let me go tricker treating????All the kids my age are doing it!

Mom, I didn't complain this year about trick-or-treating. I actually sort of missed Halloween all together because I was in the library writing my research paper. Are there any oreo cookies left for me?
I went trick or treating this year, I'm making up for the "older" years I missed. Eli always picked the straight sugar candies when he had an option (nerds, smartees, that kind of thing). Natalie has already eaten all his chocolate and he got way too many suckers so we'll probably have candy for a while. I was disappointed that there were no sugar babies or flavored tootsie rolls, but my teacher brought in candy today and guess what she had... yep, it's been a good day.
