Favorite Places with somefavoritepeoplehead

Happy Birthday McKay!  Even though you are far away, you look the same and we are glad that no matter where you are, people are celebrating your birthday. October is birthday month for the guys in our family with McKay being the last.
I always remember coming home from the hospital when he was born and it being Halloween.  My mom answered the door to the trick or treaters and scared a few with her famous cackle.
Happy Birthday China Boy
This week Kira had taken time off from work to go to San Fran but it didn't pan out so we spent some time doing things she wanted to do.  We went to "Austinland"...definitely a chick flick.  We went to the temple.  Then we went to one of my favorite places and fortunately the government shut down was ended!!!
Guess where we are going ?

Corona arch in Moab

There were some guys swinging from ropes when we got up close to Corona Arch.  They were part of a group that takes teenagers on a couple of weeks of "high adventure" activities.  They are usually the last resort a family tries to get their kids back into mainstream.  It was interesting to be reminded that the fear of doing things that we haven't done before but conquer is a big motivator in life.  I know I always project ...but what about this or that and need to remind myself , that is a waste of time.
Drive along Green River
On our way to Bill Negro Canyon we got pretty excited to see a new bike trail going from Moab up the Green River.  It will be SWEET!  I can hardly wait to go back with my bike when it is done.

Fiery Furnace
Happy Birthday Dallin...wearing my wet jacket in Moab to stay cool.
Lots of memories came to me of times we have gone with our family to Moab.  It felt good to be back and you could not have ordered more perfect weather.  We did sweat but it wasn't hot and it wasn't crowded...pretty much perfect.  I can't think of any better way to usher out fall than hiking in Moab.
I added a picture of Dallin because it was his birthday last week.  He was too busy to stop and celebrate.
Last of all is T-bone who had his birthday at the beginning of Oct.  He is too old to even think about and too cute.  Love all these guys.  Even more than Moab.
