So Happy Together....36 years

The bees came on Saturday.  Kim got 3 new hives.  Only one made it through the winter.

Replacing the queen box after pulling out the plug and putting in a marshmallow...the bees eat it and the queen is released just at the time the bees are finally used to her and don't eat her instead.
This is the Queen cell.  They leave her in the box until the hive gets used to her.

Kathy  Egan...South Africa Cape Town Mission Mom Extraordinaire

When Kathy came home after serving as Mom to 400 missionaries in South Africa,  she found out that she was in stage 4 of lymphoma.  They did every thing possible at the Huntsman Cancer Center for her and she was always positive about the experience and upbeat.
She  made me laugh because you never knew what she was going to say.  She had an energetic and happy personality and made friends easily.  The first time I saw her, I wanted to be more like her.  I know I am going to miss her a lot.
As they sang the SACTM Mission Song at her funeral, I thought for sure that Bryce was there with Kathy and they were belting it out.  I am so grateful that I knew her.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY....The Best is Yet to Come!!

One of many candid photos on our wedding day!

36 years later...we look about the same, don't you think?
For our anniversary, we decided to try out our Highlander and tow the tent trailer to Moab.  The weather was fabulousoooo and we had a lot of fun re-visiting some of our favorite places and remembering when we had the kids with us and how nice it was to finally hike without someone needing to go to the bathroom, get a drink or was too tired to go any further.
Corona Arch and Hidden Valley
Can you see the arch behind me?

This is Kim running up the slick rock without using the railing...I definitely preferred the railing going up and even more coming down.  For someone that is turning 59...he wanted me to know he is still a hot dog.
Phantom eyes behind the arch
Hidden Valley is switchbacks up the mountain, two valleys and then lots of fins with Indian drawings interspersed.  You can get to it by jeep coming from the other direction.  Alot of really buff people ride their bikes through the valley and then carry their bikes down the switchbacks.  I am just grateful I can still get up it without croaking.
This is the first valley...after steep switchbacks up the mountain.

Indian petrogylphs on fins
We were pretty tired after doing two hikes.  We slept really good and got up early the next morning and did one last hike to the Mill Creek.  We were surprised to see so much water and after crossing the stream several times and knowing we really would have to get wet and it really wasn't that warm yet, we turned back with a pledge to come better prepared next time.

Being careful not to plop

A fun building at the beginning...it different every time we see it.

Spring has officially arrived...the tulips are up and my peas are just breaking the surface.

Conference, Easter, funerals, anniversary, Spring.
It is such an amazing time.  We are blessed, happy where we are in our lives and grateful for one another.    So happy together.

what a great post! Happy anniversary.

Was that Bryce's Mission Pres wife then? How sad she had to go.

Hi, Mr. Christensen, you have a wonderful energy. Beekeeping is a very enjoyable hobby. Neither do we have the Caucasian bee. Honey is very tasty and healing. You have orange-colored bees. I see it the first time. What type? Our photos of the bees:
