Putting Fall Colors on Grandpa's grave |
Eating at Maddox...Grandma's favorite place to eat |
Peach pie from Maddox...the last of the peaches--they pealed the peaches after we ordered the pie! Now that is fresh. |
Then we headed to Brigham to spend the night with Grandma. In the morning we got busy cleaning while Kim took his mom to do errands. She was very grateful to have the help and be able to do some things she wanted. We went to the cemetery and it was beautiful. I stopped at my dad's and then searched for Stephanie's grave. She was Bryce's age and was expecting her first baby when she was in a car accident. I loved the headstone...it had big flowers etched into it and a small headstone for her little girl.
Then we went to Maddox and I am always happy that Mom orders the same thing and I get her mushrooms. They are the best. She knew Brooke wanted peaches so she got a pie. We went across the street and bought the last of the peaches at a stand, paid a small fortune and were sad when we ate the first one. It was not like the Brigham peaches we are used to eating...it was on the mushy side. However, it was just nice to go to a fruit stand like we used to and buy peaches in Brigham. We wore Grandma out and I think she was a little happy to see us go. However, while we were there, Keith and Diane stopped on their way to Yellowstone and then Kay and Benjie came to haul off stuff. We had some good visits and were reminded of the blessings of family.
We headed back to Brooke's in the 5 o clock Friday night traffic. Suicide in my mind but there were only minor delays and we had a good visit with that cute baby and parents.
Saturday was a work day at our house. It ended with Stake Roadshows. Where did the week go? McKay ...Kira dried apples in your honor. They are yummy.
