It was great being with family in Indiana. I forgot how much laundry a family can go through and how many meals there are when you have kids. My favorite part was story time. Each day when we had quiet time or at night when it was time to go to bed, the kids would get a blanket and listen to stories from which ever adult had the turn to do the ritual. Sharon wanted stories about dogs. Eli liked stories about pirates and dragons. These were not to be ones found in books but to be made up by the story teller. I have never told so many stories about dogs in my life. I had to dig deep and think of ...Pokie Puppy, 101 Dalmatians, Lassie, and every story that I used to read to my kids when they were little that had a dog in it. I am sure the re-telling was only vaguely like the real story with much improvisation but it gave me a starting point. Those were fun times and definitely being a grandma is the reward I get for first being a mom but it is much funner and there are no rules when you are a grandma...you can do whatever you want--what are they gonna do? Fire you?

They're not gonna fire you. All children LOVE their grandparents. It's nice to hear that grandparenting is so much funner, because being a mom is already pretty awesome.
