Adventures of Tokyo

We met my cousin's son, wife and three children outside the Tokyo station where I left my purse containing my passport, wallet, ipod and camera.  Dallin was pretty incredulous that I would forget something like that...Kim was used to it.  With the help of Heather and her cell phone, we were happily amazed that in a city as big as Tokyo I got my purse back at the end of the day with everything in tact. Pretty interesting to identify yourself when everything that identifies you is in the purse!  Here we are with my cousin's family looking for a fun place to eat.

We found this little noodle shop tucked away from the busier places and all sat down to a bowl of yummy noodles.  Those are slices of pork on top of my noodles with lots of fat but very good!
We went to a Shrine just as they were closing.  The guard in the back ground was shooing everyone away.  Some other tourists of which we saw few, were trying to convince a guard at the entrance to let them in.
Tokyo Tower
Tokyo tower looks over the endless vista of Tokyo.  We could see Tokyo Disney and no end to the buildings and landscape.  Everywhere you looked were buildings and more buildings.

They put a "bib" on each one of us for dinner
We stayed at a hotel for US military since my cousin is a pilot for the Air Force.  We were amazed at regular sized beds and rooms.  It felt like the good ole USA.   We were treated to dinner in one of the hotels restaurants where the food was cooked in front of us and we got some more yummy sushi.
This is from the window of our room and if you look hard, you can see Angel Moroni!
The chef was very friendly and talked to us in English until he realized that Dallin spoke Japanese and then it was Japanese for the rest of the night.

We were sad to bid our cousins good bye the next morning.  We had a fun time while eating breakfast to have 3 families come up to us because of Dallin's missionary name tag and ask us about where we were from and then immediately ask...do you know?  It continues to be a small world when the church is concerned.  And yes, we knew their cousin that lives in our ward, etc.    We loved being with family and they were so generous and good to us.  We hope to visit them again if they go to Beijing on their next assignment! We loved having their children to enjoy.  Their son was named Tyler so that was especially nice.
