Shay on Thanksgiving Day

This was an activity that Shay spear headed to keep the kids busy before before eating. She showed them how to assemble the turkeys and they were assigned by Sophie what they were to do. I am afraid alot of the turkeys never made it to the table!

Thanksgiving Day

Here we are in November 2008 at Grandma Fife's house. Everyone made it but Brad's family ( in Sacramento with Rachelle's family), Anika (working), Tyler's family ( in Indiana), Kira ( in Tucson) and Lauryl ( in Tucson). We ate, played games, took pictures, put up the lights and talked alot. Then we ( Kim, Wynette, McKay and Bryce) headed to Brigham City to visit Grandma Christensen. We visited, played Boggle, and got up the next morning to rake leaves, clean windows, prune the apple tree, clean the gutters, visit with Timothy and Kristi with Gracie when they dropped in to see Grandma, and eat at Maddox! We made a DI run where Bryce found a "sweet" jacket from England and shirts, McKay found some shirts and Kim found speakers. Bryce and I headed to the Duces because McKay was working on getting internet on Grandma's computer ( that is what McKay did all the day before at GRandma Fife's!) where he could check on his Canyons pass and Wynette could get in a short visit with her dear friend of 30 years , Shari Duce, and then head up to Canyons via the new Legacy Highway which was fairly empty for a Friday night. We made it with 3 minutes to spare before closing and Bryce is the happy holder of a Canyon's season pass. We made it home in time to get up the next day and head to DI with old chairs ( yes, the recovered rocker is in DI heaven), get Grandpa Fife's old desk and haul it to DI, have lunch with Grandma Fife, pack up her couch and bring it to it's new place in our dining room. To celebrate the new arrangement, we got the movie Kungfu Panda and lit a fire in the dining room ( never done before in our 12 years living here). McKay burnt his second batch of pumpkin seeds, we turned on the Christmas lights for the season, and Bryce worked on his application to BYU. It was a busy day as we also got in our Christmas shopping ( almost done!!).

Goodbye!

Well, it's that time. Goodbye family. I look forward to your letters. Thanks for all your support.

I will try to write to everyone, but we'll see how much time I'll have. Check out elderdallinchristensen.blogspot.com . McKay, Mom, and I will keep it updated. If you want any cool widgets or have any ideas for how to make the blog better, tell McKay (he's an admin).

See you in two years!

KimWyn reunion

We just got back from a week in Utah. It was kind of an early holiday visit, in honor of Bryce getting home from his mission in South Africa and Dallin preparing to leave for his to Japan. Mum bought us plane tickets and we were able to spend a couple days with the Barlows and a few with the Christensens. This trip came during the middle of a very busy semester for me so I was very happy to be able to enjoy family for a week instead of late nights grading papers. While we were there we were able to interview both our parents about how they met, go with the boys to a BYU football game, have some good jam sessions, attend several family parties, and celebrate Sharon's first birthday.

I have started uploading photos to Picasa (it's easier than updating my websites or blog). There are a few new October pictures and videos as well as pictures from our trip at the following links.

Wading through Ding and Dang

Kim took pity on Brooke and Wynette and gave them rides so they wouldn't have to try and shimmy like the boys.

Ding and Dang Canyon

On Monday we drove down to Goblin Valley and hiked a fun slot canyon. Dallin has cooler pictures, i.e. Kim carrying me on his shoulders through knee deep water, etc. but he has not sent them to me so this is the best I can do to show a slot place. We had a lot of fun and I was grateful to have 3 strong boys to push, shove, and haul me up stuff.

McKay's 27th birthday

We are celebrating McKay's birthday by going with friends to Movie Night. This is something McKay organizes every Tues. night because it is $.75 night! at the Dollar theatre. These are his family, room mates, and girls down the street. The movie was "Flash of Genius" and we ate cheesecake afterwards.

Eli singing and 200 posts

Eli has never been much of a singer so I've been thrilled these last few weeks--he has learned a song from the movie "Meet the Robinsons." Here's a sample of what we get almost every day (he sings it to Sharon).

Also, a moderator's note... This blog has now accumulated 200 posts (this is #201). Who's idea was this? Mom? Anyhow, I think it's great--it's been nice to read about what everyone is doing.
